Contributions from the participating architecture firms are accessible to the public in Stadthaus Deutz
Cologne, 12 September 2016. The exhibition of the contributions to the façade competition for MesseCity Cologne opened today at Stadthaus Deutz. Franz-Josef Höing, head of the buildings department; Rainer Maria Schäfer, Cologne business unit manager from STRABAG Real Estate; and Torsten Kuttig, managing director of ECE Office & Industries, today officially opened the exhibition to the public. The works will be on display until 23 September in the west wing of Magistralenhalle, Segment M21 through M24, during the regular opening hours of Stadthaus Deutz.
The exhibition includes the four winning designs as well as the submitted works from all remaining participants. The 20-member jury had announced the winners in early March 2016: the designs from the architecture firms KSP Jürgen Engel Architekten (Braunschweig), gmp Architekten von Gerkan, Marg und Partner (Hamburg), Max Dudler Architekt (Berlin) and Ortner & Ortner Baukunst (Cologne/Berlin) were chosen as the basis for the realisation of the project.
The jury also presented a special recognition for the joint submission from ASTOC Architects and Planners (Cologne) and HPP Architekten (Düsseldorf) and awarded a special prize to Molestina Architekten (Cologne).
